My mom just turned 80 this year and has shown me what commitment looks like. She's always there for family, friends and her community, whether it's taking a meal to someone who's just gotten out of the hospital, teaching people how to knit (patiently), learning how to make a wedding cake (for my wedding) or singing in her church choir for the last 50+ years! What she says she'll do, she does. I admire her loyalty and dependability.

​Everything that I am, I am because of these women. My Grandmother raised my Mom to be strong, kind, and resilient, and that is how my Mom raised me. They both inspire me to work hard and create beauty all around me.

​My mom is an inspiration to many, and I've learned so much from following in her footsteps for over three decades....she taught me to stand up for what I believe in, and that change never comes easy but is always worth fighting for.
