Against the Grain is a certified Organic farm specializing in a broad spectrum of vegetables and 100% grass fed beef. They are a full time farming family dedicated to providing high-quality farm products to our farmers market customers. With the help of a dynamic team of aspiring farmers and farm hands, they raise vegetables year-round! Against the Grain has a beautiful selection of salad ingredients through the winter months, including spring mix, radishes, turnips, spring onions, spinach and arugula.

Attagirl Boutique started as a hobby, which turned into a small business, due to the positive feedback from costumers. Ivette started making just hairbows and dog bandanas. She originally started making dog bandanas because her girl dog Maddie needed something cute to wear, and she is not a fan of dog clothes. She got a lot of compliments on the bandanas and started adding dog items to my collection. Some of her popular items are dog bandanas and sailor bows for dogs. Ivette is a resident of Watauga County a have been for over 32 years and is passionate about dogs. She is always looking for new ideas and to create products for dogs and their owners.

Boone Barndog has been a local artist in Boone since 1991. Over COVID-19, they started making coloring books and posters. They have been a vendor at the Watauga County Farmers Market for 4 years and have grown their business since. They hand-draw the drawings, write the poetry in the cards and make the puzzles in the coloring books. People have responded positively to their work, and they enjoy the collaborative effort of customers taking their art and finishing it themselves. They love sharing this expressive art therapy and creative outlet with others!

She is located in Watauga county where she produces all of her herbal remedies by hand. All products are organic, or ethically wild crafted. Captures by Dezi is a local artist with a love for capturing the beauty of nature through photography, foraged crafts, and screen-printed designs. They offer locally-taken nature photography in a variety of prints, cards, buttons, magnets, bookmarks, and stickers. They create forever forests in glass jars with unique foraged finds, preserving a little piece of the forest that customers can take home, decorated with pressed pressed foliage along the jar. They create tiny jar earrings and necklaces filled with dried flora, all made with stainless steel jewelry. Their screen-printed bags and 100% cotton shirts are inspired by nature.

Creeksong Farm has been selling produce grown using organic methods at the Watauga County Farmers' Market since 1979. At that time, few people were concerned about the presence of chemicals in their food, but Jeff and Bettie Thomas were determined to grow food in a sustainable and healthy manner. Creeksong Farm sells eggs from their free range chickens, humanely raised meat from their angus steers and pigs, and potatoes. Throughout the season, they grow many varieties of vegetables, flowers, and herbs on 4 acres of fields. Now a second generation farm!

Four Sisters Bakery is a local bakery based out of Black Mountain, NC, and have been serving Western NC since 2018. Magpies is rooted in the High Country and based on a small homestead in Mountain City, Tennessee. Magpies is a new endeavor to showcase their love for good food! They are passionate about growing and cooking food with the hopes of providing access to fresh food in the local food system. They aim to provide a variety of baked goods, breads, and other foods with seasonal and local ingredients.

Mountain Roots is a first generation family farm owned & operated by husband/wife team Anna & Ricky Hurt. Their 38 acre farm is located in Lansing, NC (Ashe County) where they produce an array of vegetables, small fruits, Shiitake & Oyster mushrooms, grass fed beef, pasture raised pork and free range eggs. They also own and operate High Country Greenhouses, the high country's oldest retail nursery.

Stardust Cellars is the first Demeter-certified biodynamic vineyard in the South, nestled in the mountains above North Wilkesboro. Their meads undergo spontaneous fermentation with wild cultures from local raw honey and hand-stirred with our estate well water, capturing the essence of North Carolina's terroir. They use Southdown Babydoll sheep to naturally fertilize and groom our vineyard. They avoid using sprays, and source their honey from local, family-ran apiaries. Beyond their award-winning wild fermented meads, they also have ciders and a line of non-alcoholic beverages, such as the Honey Soda, Lion’s Mane Mushroom Mead and Weed Mead to provide options to a diverse customer base.

Gala Crafts creates stained glass pieces. Their goal with stained glass is to capture all the wild, varied, spectacular colors and textures of nature in unique art, glass pieces. They love adding copper wire, antique glass plates, and even occasional spoons to their pieces to accentuate the natural movement of the glass. Whenever possible, they incorporate found and recycled glass, wire and bevels into their pieces. Gala Crafts has been working in the medium for over 20 years and has learned (sometimes the hard way) to love the music of breaking glass.
