"My mother, Sarah, grew up on a small farm in Eastern, NC.  As a child, I played there, amazed at the vegetable gardens, pigs, cows and fresh food.  Her grandmother, Janie, farmed that same land, SOLO, after her husband died when she was in her 20’s.  Both women had deep roots in the soil of Eastern NC. Those same roots remain deep in my soul here in Western, NC.  My gardens are my joy!"
