Mead Making Workshop

With BRWIA and Medicinal Herbalists
Rashell Aunchman and Thomas Cooper

Saturday, December 12th l 2pm-4pm l Agricultural Conference Center, 252 Poplar Grove Rd. Boone NC

Join local Medicinal Herbalists Rashell Aunchman and Thomas Cooper as they guide an exploration through the world of fermentation to learn about the ancient art and practice of making mead.

Affectionately called “Nectar of the Gods” or “Honey Wine”, brewing mead is not a new practice. There is archaeological evidence of mead being produced as early as 7000 BC and written records date from 1700 BC! Although it was called by different names, fermented honey beverages were enjoyed worldwide by native cultures throughout Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

Participants must be registered before noon on December 10th for the early-bird rate. Spaces will be limited, so act now to reserve a spot!

Price of admission includes samples (for participants 21+)* as well as handouts and recipes!

*All are welcome to participate, however sampling of mead will only be available to participants 21+ with a valid ID.
