In 2015 Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture administered Direct-to-Farmer grants for the first time.  With funding from Heifer USA, a global non-profit organization dedication to working with community to end hunger and poverty while learning to care for the Earth, roughly $50,000 has been distributed to local farmers in Alleghany, Ashe, Wilkes, and Watauga counties in North Carolina and Johnson County, Tennessee.

In 2017, BRWIA was able to secure funding through working with Heifer USA again in order to put out a third Direct-to-Farmer Grant cycle.

THE GRANT APPLICATION DEADLINE HAS PAST FOR 2017/18. THANK YOU ALL FOR APPLICATIONS.
