B.A.D. Composting is a compost co-op that collects food scraps from individuals as well as providing gardening help like building compost bins and permaculture gardens. Soil is the basis of life, and by diverting food scraps from the waste stream and creating soil, we are giving new life to our communities. It’s Born Again Dirt!

Creeksong: Creeksong Farm has been selling produce grown using organic methods at the Watauga County Farmers' Market since 1979. At that time, few people were concerned about the presence of chemicals in their food, but Jeff and Bettie Thomas were determined to grow food in a sustainable and healthy manner. Creeksong Farm sells eggs from their free range chickens, humanely raised meat from their angus steers and pigs, and potatoes. Throughout the season, they grow many varieties of vegetables, flowers, and herbs on 4 acres of fields. Now a second generation farm!

Gala Crafts creates stained glass pieces. Their goal with stained glass is to capture all the wild, varied, spectacular colors and textures of nature in unique art, glass pieces. They love adding copper wire, antique glass plates, and even occasional spoons to their pieces to accentuate the natural movement of the glass. Whenever possible they incorporate found and recycled glass, wire and bevels into their pieces. They have been working in the medium for over 20 years and have learned (sometimes the hard way) to love the music of breaking glass.
