About Us

​The King Street Farmers' Market, powered by Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture is returning for the 2023 season! The market has been operating since 2017. The King Street Market is a spacious, outdoor market that operates every Tuesday from May through October. The King Street Market is designed with working families in mind to give them the perfect opportunity to shop local during the week.

The King Street Market offer a wide array of local goods including produce, meats, flowers, bread, eggs, crafts, and more!

Are you a musician who wants to perform at the market?  Please email farmersmarkets@brwia.org if interested.  Musicians are offered $50 per market, and are encouraged to put out a tip jar as well.  We now offer a solar panel hookup to those who require electricity to play!

Amado Farm: Amado Farm began operations in fall of 2021 and is a small, veteran-owned farm just off the Blue Ridge Parkway at the Calloway Gap. Their dream was to move to the NC mountains and live in harmony with the land. They are committed to using sustainable, eco-friendly, and organic farming practices through composting and worm farming as well as using abundant tree saplings, leaf mulch, and natural fertilizers in our raised beds. Their goal is to source their farm as naturally as possible and pass along to consumers our products packaged in recycled and environmentally-minded packaging. They have chicken, Pekin duck, and Coturnix quail eggs for sale for consumption along with fertilized duck and quail eggs. They grow a variety of unique produce along with herbs and flowers, create teas from foraged wild plants, and have a rabbitry where they raise Silver Fox rabbits. Their motto is "Amado Farm is where friendly, furry, and feathered friends flock together."

Black Birch Her-Pothecary is a certified holistic and clinical herbalist. She has studied through the Blue Ridge School of Herbal Medicine. She is located in Watauga county where she produces all of her herbal remedies by hand. All products are organic, or ethically wild crafted. Blue Ridge Valley Farm is a small produce farm using horse power and earth centered values to bring nutritious, meaningful food to everyone in the High Country. All of their produce is non-gmo and they use zero synthetic/non-organic sprays, pesticides or materials. Their farm specializes in fresh greens, roots, okra, and peppers, but they grow much more! Escobar Rustic Craft: ​Locally sourced wood that we use to make many products such as cutting boards, charcuterie boards, wine racks, decorative pieces, candle holders etc. Located in Deep Gap N.C.

Fire Light Candle: Firelight candles are made in small batches in my home kitchen. Once the candles have cured, she uses a Circuit di-cut machine to print out vinyl designs that are specifically created for each scent. She carefully hand weeds out the designs from the vinyl sheets using a special tool and apply them to the candle jars. She has always been rejuvenated by the scenes and scents of nature and so she set out to capture that goodness by using all-natural soy, premium fragrance oils + essential oils, and pure bee's wax to craft each signature scent in an artistic candle.

​Gala Crafts creates stained glass pieces. Their goal with stained glass is to capture all the wild, varied, spectacular colors and textures of nature in unique art, glass pieces. They love adding copper wire, antique glass plates, and even occasional spoons to their pieces to accentuate the natural movement of the glass. Whenever possible they incorporate found and recycled glass, wire and bevels into their pieces. They have been working in the medium for over 20 years and have learned (sometimes the hard way) to love the music of breaking glass.

Hillside Haven Farm is a small family farm located in the beautiful hills of Carter County, TN, about 25 miles from Boone, NC. They love to grow food, and have a variety of vegetables and small fruits. Those include lettuce, kale, spinach, green beans, tomatoes, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, okra, sugar snap peas, field peas, and several others. They also have blueberry bushes and plan to put in raspberries and strawberries this year. They use natural fertilizers and additives for their soil, such as compost, worm castings, alfalfa, greensand, and lime. They like to avoid using sprays but when they are necessary, they use organic ones. They love to provide healthy food from their family to yours, and look forward to serving you!
