Carringer Farms: Don has farmed all his life-family gardens and farming with his grandparents/parents. We had our farm in Franklin, NC for 10 years and participated in several different farmers markets and sold to several restaurants. In 2022, we sold our farm in Franklin and bought a 9-acre farm in Altamont, NC. We will be growing a lot of vegetables in the spring. We also grow microgreens. We still have our bees that pollinate our crops, so we will have honey. We grow a lot of our plants from seed. My wife Belinda makes jams, jellies, preserves, and relishes, along with baked goods.

Although new to the Boone area, they have been organic farmers for the past 25 years in a variety of places - as owners, managers, breeders, seed producers, educators - they have tried a bit of everything - and the learning never stops. They are looking forward to sharing our harvest with you!

Opossum Bottom Farm & Market Garden is a small urban farm nestled against the mountains in Johnson City TN. Way back in the 70s I started gardening with my great aunt. While helping her in her garden, she taught me how to grow things without the assistance of synthetic products, which now, fast forward 40 years, is a more familiar term, organic. While many of the methods have changed since then, the base fundamentals of growing sustainably, improving the land on which you grow, and providing synthetic free food are still the same. We strive to incorporate those fundamentals in our practices so that our produce is free of all synthetic products. No pesticides, no fungicides, no herbicides, nothing, just good practices, natural fertilizers, rainwater, and a love of growing.

Paradise Family Farms started in 2020 and is a family endeavor intended to bring 3 generations together to serve a common purpose. Five family members bring valuable skills together to breed high-quality Highland calves. The farm aims to provide quality natural food to the community while raising the herd with the highest agricultural standards of grass-fed and grass-finished beef.  The Highland is a Heritage beef breed and is slow growing but well worth the wait. Scottish Highland meat is a premium Beef.  It has been found to be lower in fat and cholesterol and higher in protein and iron than other beef breeds. The flavor of this breed is tremendous.  We know you will love it.
